Job description
Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) – Based in the Netherlands
Work hybrid from our Groningen office | No visa sponsorship
Are you living in the Netherlands and passionate about infrastructure, automation, and SRE? Do you enjoy working in a close-knit team and want to make a real impact on a platform that sells millions of tickets across Europe?
We are looking for an SRE Engineer to help ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our high-traffic systems. You will be part of a technology-driven environment, supporting well-known festivals, venues, and cultural institutions.
About the Platform
You will be working on Paylogic, our highly customizable white-label ticketing solution used by major music venues and festivals across Europe. It is a platform designed for scale, flexibility, and performance, and you will help keep it running smoothly.
What You'll Do
Monitor and continuously improve platform performance, stability, and security.
Work with technologies such as Python, Percona MySQL, Memcached, Redis, Nginx, Nginx Unit (ASGI), Apache (WSGI), and Ubuntu Linux.
Partner with engineering and product teams to identify and implement platform optimisations.
Lead capacity planning and research new solutions to support growth and scalability.
Perform security scanning, stress testing, and troubleshoot production issues.
Replace manual work with automation wherever possible.
Job requirements
You are already living in Groningen or are willing to relocate, and are eligible to work in the Netherlands.
Please note: we are not able to offer visa sponsorship or relocation support for this role.
At least 2 years of relevant experience in SRE, system engineering, or DevOps.
A solid technical foundation from education or experience. You do not need to know our entire stack, but you are eager to learn.
Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team.
A pragmatic mindset: you know what to improve and what to leave as is.
Familiarity with Linux and the command line is essential, as many tasks happen in terminals.
Interest in networking and server hardware. Prior experience is a plus, but curiosity matters more.
You take ownership, follow through on projects, and enjoy a fast-moving environment.
A driver’s license is a nice bonus, but not required.
What We Offer
A competitive salary.
Hybrid working: from our modern office in central Groningen and several days remote per week after onboarding.
The ability to make a real impact on a scalable platform used by millions.
A tech-driven environment with room for growth, autonomy, and learning.
A supportive team that encourages development through coaching and training.
Travel reimbursement from 10 km, 27 vacation days, a solid pension plan (with employer contribution), and career opportunities via our career levelling framework.
One-off remote working budget and home office budget to get set up the way you like.
The hardware of your choice.
Access to OpenUp, our mental health partner.
Monthly team events and at least two company parties per year.
The opportunity to attend some of the events we ticket.
