Build software with real impact! We're looking for a Python engineer to scale reliable systems for global financial transactions. Ready to grow with us? Let's talk.

Job description

Excited to build software that makes a real impact on users? At See Tickets, your code helps sell out events like Tomorrowland, Defqon.1, and Paradiso in just a few minutes. Our platform, Paylogic, has processed over 100 million tickets worldwide and we’re aiming for another 100+ million in the years ahead. You’ll join a highly autonomous, international team in Groningen, working on the backbone of our platform: the finance and payments domain. If you're a Python engineer ready to grow while building reliable, high-volume systems that move large-scale financial transactions across borders, let’s talk.

What you’ll do

  • Design and build backend services in Python (Flask / FastAPI) for our finance platform.

  • Integrate with payment providers like Stripe, Adyen, Klarna, and PayPal.

  • Work on customer-facing payment flows, internal payout automation, and financial reporting.

  • Collaborate with ticketing engineers, product teams, and finance stakeholders.

  • Write clean, well-tested code and improve the quality and performance of existing systems.

What you’ll help shape

At Paylogic, the finance engineering team builds and supports the systems that handle payments across Europe and beyond. You'll contribute to building the future of our payments platform in a space that directly supports our event organisers and end users.

  • Add support for new payment methods and country-specific payment flows.

  • Automate accurate and timely payouts to organisers across multiple currencies.

  • Handle reconciliation, settlement, and financial reporting at scale.

  • Ensure all financial transactions are handled safely, reliably, and compliantly.

  • Keep everything connected by working closely with teams on the ticketing and platform side.

Our Stack

  • Backend: Python, Flask, FastAPI, Celery, Redis, Memcached, MySQL, SQLAlchemy

  • Testing: Pytest, Selenium

  • Frontend: Angular, TypeScript (no experience needed)

  • Approach: We take an agile-agnostic approach: we work in sprints, hold daily standups, and conduct demos and retrospectives, assess which processes best suit the team and the product.

Job requirements

  • At least 5 years of professional work experience building backend systems in production, with at least 2 years of professional experience with Python.

  • Experience working with APIs and relational databases; exposure to payment and financial systems is a plus.

  • Interest in financial flows, transactions, and systems where accuracy and security matter.

  • A mindset for writing clean, testable code and continuously improving how we work.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, you enjoy solving problems together.

  • Based in or open to relocating to Groningen (visa sponsorship and relocation support available).

  • A degree in Computer Science or relevant work experience.

What we have to offer you

  • 24 vacation days + travel reimbursement from 10km onwards.

  • A relocation budget is available for candidates moving to Groningen from abroad.

  • Hybrid working (2 days remote/week) after onboarding.

  • Career development support: coaching, training, clear levelling.

  • Remote working budget + laptop of your choice.

  • Mental health support via OpenUp.

  • Access to the events we support + monthly socials and company parties.

  • A driven, open, and international team that loves what we do.

  • And last but not least, two times an organised lunch and weekly Friday drinks.

No cover letter needed – in the next step, we’ll simply ask you a few questions to get to know you better.
